raindrops.

It's amazing how fast life can change directions on us. One second the world is as sunny as it could be and the next it's nothing but gray and drizzling skies. One thing we can do when we are in this unpredictable forecast of a world is be a difference maker. And to really achieve that, it starts with our attitudes. Attitudes can't change the course of an event, but it can surely be the difference maker.

At the beginning of summer last year, I was really fretting where I was going to go with my life. I was at the crossroads of continuing to work at an amazing position for an attorney or go back to school and finish up my degree. For me, the choice was hard. I had everything in my body telling me to stay. But my heart kept pushing me to go to school. I kept telling myself I wanted nothing to do with Snow again. I had so many memories I didn't want to remember there. It was a push back and forth everyday in my mind. I prayed so hard and knew I had to go, but hated, I mean hated everything about my choice. I tried staying happy, told myself I'm a strong girl and I can push through the memories, finish school as fast I could and get back to work again! Well I just wanted to share what I've been realizing the last several months. I know exactly why I was prompted to come back to school. ..

First off, I have grown so much. This last year has been such an amazing experience. I have made so many friends down here. If I was blessed with one thing from my Heavenly Father, it was the ability to make friends. I can't even tell you the numbers of lives that have blessed me down here and I would have missed out on the world if I had stayed at home. I have overcome my fears! I have the biggest love for Snow College and erased all my negative memories with nothing but positive and happy ones! I almost wish the year wouldn't end so soon. I have so many adventures and things I still want to do! I have become best friends with my sister Arianne. She is an amazing girl and I am so blessed to have her in my life. She truly is an example to me and even being my little sister, I know I look up to her more. My family has become my everything. I do not know where I would be without them. My parents truly raised me fantastically. I have no idea how they had so much patience with me, but I know no better parenting style than theirs and will carry what they've taught and raised me with to my children. I love my family. I've realized how precious life is. How short it is and how fast it can be taken away. We need to take every single moment and cherish it. I am so grateful for my life. I was given a second chance here on earth and I can't thank my Heavenly Father enough. I can't even imagine how it would have been if I hadn't been so blessed and protected in my accident. I count my blessings everyday and pray you do too. I want to work so hard on doing my best and giving as much of myself as I can. I have so much to give and offer and I hope I can express my love and gratitude for the life I have been given by doing charity in all I do. I have found what I want to further do in life. If I did not come to school and have the experiences I had, I'm positive my life wouldn't be in the same direction. Coming to school has led me to wonderful choices and options in furthering my education and career choices. I am going to the University of Utah this fall. I've always loved the school and the Salt Lake City area. I decided to go after my dream, because that's what life is about. I am going to major in Home and Family Studies and become a Child Specialist where I can work in hospitals helping families and children. I get to be their best friends during their stays and procedures. I'm looking very forward to it because I absolutely adore children. I love helping people and giving my heart. I feel really excited about this and want to head this direction. I am going to take art classes on the side because I love my art so much. I will make a difference using both in my life.

I'm grateful for my supportive parents. They're excited for me and that's one thing I wish every person on this earth could experience. My Dad is probably the most amazing man you could meet. The most handsome too. I'm so glad my Mom married a cutie pie. He makes me smile in everything he does and I want to have that exact same pure love someday. He is the wisest man I know, most experienced, and most giving. He doesn't hesitate ever in giving someone a hand or a second chance. He has the cutest smile and can make anyone laugh. He finds the best joy in making others smile especially in his magic tricks. He is hardworking, dedicated and strong. He holds his responsibilities high and honors his priesthood, wife and family. He's the best teacher and I could not ask for a better Dad in the world. I want to be just like my Daddy. My Mother, the most beautiful woman. Inside and out. I cannot express to you how much she means to me. She is the most charitable woman you could ever meet. Never turning down an opportunity to make a friend, give of herself or her time. She never complains. I've never heard her complain about anything in her life, just always pushing forward to help others make the best of theirs. She is an outstanding example of love, virtue, and good works. My mom is patient. She listens. She just knows when to say I love you and give you the best hug. She keeps everything organized, scheduled, and well maintained. I want to be just like my Mommy. I need to express my gratitude for both my parents never yelling or fighting. Never throwing or hitting. I've been in a relationship like that and have seen many like that. I refuse to ever be a part of or put myself in a relationship like that again. Thank you Mom and Dad for being an example for everything.

So even with the raindrops outside, the trials, and whatever hardships we may be going through, know that I am here for you and that your attitude, if positive, can be the difference maker in your life.

1..2..3..Smile!

I have been working on an assignment in Human Development where we need to find 5 professional journals on a topic and write one page summarizing each. I found an article in the Journal of Education and Human Development about "Humor in the Home and The Classroom: The Benefits of Laughing While we Learn." This read is fantastic and I recommend it! The site is http://www.scientificjournals.org/journals2008/articles/1268.pdf I absolutely believe that humor is the key to anything. It makes life more enjoyable when we can laugh! and I know for me, humor in the classroom and in my studying has positively affected my learning. Humor also in my home and outside have really strengthened my relationships and I want to make sure I can take my smile/laughter and remember that I am positively affecting someone :)

Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day. ~Quoted in P.S. I Love You, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

the blog gods are against me.

Well, I decided everyone had a cute blog except me. So I had a makeover and it was not easy. But it was accomplished enough for me to be satisfied for this week. Onto more important things such as homework and dinner :)

It's A Birthday!

21 Years Old Today!

It feels not quite different from yesterday, but I am a full launched adult now ;)
The family made it such a fun day today and I loved being with them! I got to nap with Vanessa, play dress up with red lipstick, and watch Mark, Sabrina and Owen be Joseph, Mary, and Jesus in the ward play. I got real fun gifts this year! The family got me a beautiful yellow sweater, the Clue Spy game, bracelets and a pair of earrings! We had delicious cake too and I blew out all my candles :) I believe that you can share your wishes, because I think they become stronger wishes and will come true even more if you do. So this year I wished for one of the funnest and safest years :) also to ride an elephant in a jungle... haha

Dad was driving us back from helping Mark and Sabrina move into their home and told me how fun of day this had been for him. He let me know how hard it would have been today if I wasn't here to celebrate it with him and all they had instead were photos to remember. I was overwhelmed with love. I'm so grateful to be here for my 21st birthday and I am filled with love today! Today I would say, couldn't have gone better.

14 degrees

Just finished finals and have this amazing feeling of starting new! What an adventure this semester of school has been. I've made so many new friends, learned so many new things, and have been showered with blessings.

Getting back from China was both amazing and hard. I missed my children more than anything but couldn't be more happy to be back with my family and a hot shower! My boss and amazing neighbor David let me come back to work for him and I was so excited to be back with my best friend Nikki! My brother soon came to work with us too which made work the best! Nikki had her beautiful baby Eva and I've never been more happier for her! The decision to stay and work or go back to school was nearing and the choice was definitely complicated for me. Staying at work guaranteed me security in finances but I knew school would get me a step higher for my future. I prayed about it and decided Snow was right for me, even though I hated admitting it and had no idea what was in store for me.

This fall I took American Civ, French, Business Illustration, Philosophy, Aerobics, and English. I loved all my courses so much! There is something about learning I can't get enough of! Philosophy, although proving to be difficult, turned out to be one of my favorite classes. My English professor became my roommates and I's very dear friend and I love love speaking French! I do miss my Chinese and hope I can speak both well one day! Aerobics makes me happy, I love waking up in the morning and exercising! Nothing is better in thanking your body then by exercising and eating well! I love taking good care of my body and will always make sure I can attend an aerobics class.

November 13, 2009 (better known as Friday the 13th) I was blessed with life. I was in a rollover accident on I-15. I have never been more grateful to my Heavenly Father in blessing me to be with my family on earth a little bit longer. I know for a fact I'm here for a reason and will do everything in my power to make sure I do as much as I can with my life to bless others as Heavenly Father has for me. I cannot even come close to describing the love I have for my Savior, my family, and friends.

Finals are finished!!! Three cheers :) I still have a bunch of homework to get turned in by the end of the day, but I feel very much accomplished for being 2 weeks behind and even got a 100 out of 115 on my French Final! I couldn't wait to tell Dad! Graduation this spring here I come! :)

I can't wait for Mom to come tomorrow and pick us up to go home for a long fun break! Can't think of a better birthday present :) I'm excited to start up this blog again. Love always!
