thoughts.

Had some things on my mind I wanted to share before I went to bed this evening.

First off, Family is one of the most important things we have here on earth. I'm so blessed to have the family I do. They are my world and I love them with all my heart.

With the horrific events going on in Japan it makes my heart break. I think the Lord gave me a heart that fills up with others and I just can't help but tear up in my eyes as I read about the events during the day of the families, lovers, and friends hurting over there.

I just need you to know, I'm so so far from perfect. Absolutely so far... but I will let you know this, my love for my family and friends is real. Please always know that. I'm so grateful for your love in return, I'd be one unjoyful Kimberly Joy without any single one of you.

I'm so very blessed, very scared, and very heavy hearted over the events this past week. And that's what I needed to share tonight. 愛してるわ

etsy and my new ring.

This is my new ring I bought on Etsy.com! It's made from old Victorian lace! I couldn't be more excited and had to share my new little treasure that I'm absolutely looking forward to in the mail!

hawaiin birthday.

Happiest Birthday to my dear sister Amanda! I love her so much and wanted to make a shout out...Stop growing up Amanda and come home so we can slide down the stairs on mattresses! ...haha well to tell you the truth I'd rather come out there and slide on mattresses with the ocean waves. I'm grabbing my tickets and will see you soon! Hau'oli lā hānau Amanda. I love you and Solomon!

beautiful.strong.rich

Know what I wish? I wish that this world we live in didn't revolve around beautiful women, strong men, and rich people, but instead
beautiful hearts, strong mindsets, and rich smiles. I struggle with self acceptance as many girls do. Sometimes I feel so down on myself I won't even leave my house. I'll miss class, miss work, and wonder if only my hair was this way, if only my lashes were longer, if only I could get rid of this... I usually am pretty good at not letting myself fall into these thoughts, but I find myself about once a month just hurting to know what I can do to be that woman on the magazine cover. To anyone who reads this, I AM beautiful. Even if I don't look glamorous when I wake up in the morning or stunning when I go to bed at night. My personality is the most glamorous and most stunning out there and I can walk around proud of it. I have this amazing body that lets me do everything I want and love. I have my own laugh, my own style, my own talents, and my flaws can become what makes me most beautiful. I try hard focusing on what wonderful things I can contribute to the world and it helps me realize I don't have to look like the girl next door nor get involved in ridiculous hypes of looking like someone else. It's a waste of my time. It's hard, and always will be. But I feel like if we who feel like this can go through it together, it makes for getting through these once a month blues a lot easier. Here's to the world we should live in, cheers.

a clean desk.

I whitened my teeth today.
I looked like quite a nerd walking around the house for two hours with foam drooling off my lips.
I feel like they whitened maybe 25% more than they were.
They need to make whiteout for your teeth. Results would be at 100% satisfaction.

I also cleaned off my desk today and my laptop now has a home. I feel more sophisticated typing here, but I do miss my green rug in the front room. Which reminds me! I've been exercising to the Wii game, Just Dance 2. I can't get over the dance song "Rasputin" by Boney M. It's ridiculous how happy that song makes me. I've got the entire dance memorized, so please the next time I see you, ask me to dance for you!

School isn't getting hard, but I'm finding a lack of motivation. I just want to be done, traveling, drawing and drinking ice cold water. I'll find my motivation again, but for now (because my homework is done) I'm going to be lazy this evening. I was told I wasn't assertive the other day and it kind of hit me that sometimes I'm not. So my goal this next month is complete assertion. This is going to be a positive force, if not a complete force in my search for motivation, so no fears! I'll update you on this adventure end of March.

In my class this evening, Understanding Children, I heard the funniest thing! We were discussing the importance of the frontal lobe in development. A girl raised her hand to share a story about how her mother never told her or her siblings to not do drugs or drink when they left the house, she always yelled out to them "Your frontal lobe isn't completely developed!" I absolutely loved it and that's what my dearest children will hear from me.

kennedy.

Ever have people you meet in life and are just so touched by them?
I certainly have and that would be my salonist Kennedy.
I met her about two months ago at Salon O on 4th (the best salon in Salt Lake City so far). I have loved every cut and color, but not only that, I have loved what I have learned from her. From better ways to take care of my hair and skin, I am also just impressed by the way she carries herself and the way she views life. I love the professionalism she holds throughout the day. She gets involved with the small cultures of Salt Lake to keep life rich and enjoyable! She even eloped with her husband in Vegas and couldn't have a sweeter love with him. She is so caring and I know it's her profession, but I feel like she goes the extra mile which is something we could all do more of. Her style is my absolute favorite and I love that it is truly hers. Because of her I want to carry my head higher and always remind myself beauty comes in all different packages! I'm so very grateful to have her in my life and now as a friend. Thank you Kennedy for touching my life and making me feel just as beautiful.
